Pembina Lodge: 10247 - 104 Street
Pembina Lodge, originally built in 1960, and regenerated in 1993 has 60
units, sixteen of which are able to accommodate couples(room sizes are 311-318
sq ft, and 393 sq. ft). This facility is within five minutes walking distance
of downtown Westlock, and within one minute walking distance of the local
coffee place, the A&W located on highway 44. Surrounded by a walkway,
this lodge has huge garden space with a raised garden bed for the seniors
own use, should they so desire. An attached smoking room is provided for
residents' use, as there is no smoking within the facility. The huge dining
room area is a welcome area for card and bingo buffs; the coffee pot is
always on. (All meals and snacks are included with the rent.)
Separate washer/dryer facilities for residents' use is located on second
floor of eastern wing. There is an on-site hairdressing room and an assisted
tub facility supervised by Home Care Staff. The foot care clinic visits
once every two months, and is available for a nominal charge to the residents.
Interdenominational church services are held on site with community representatives
coming in to provide these church services. There are many weekly activities
provided through the Activities Coordinator, who encourages community involvement
and interaction with residents.

Smithfield Lodge: 10203 - 97 Street
Smithfield Lodge, originally built in 1983, was regenerated in 2003 and has forty-four single
rooms. This California-style architecture consists of central dining room with four wings
radiating from this area. Residents use washer and dryer is available in two of the wings
with on-site hairdressing room, and assisted tub/shower facilities. A shower faclity is also available
for resident whose mobility is limited to a wheelchair. Foot care clinic comes
in once every two months.
Westlocks Rotary trail is just two minutes walking distance from the Smithfield Lodge, and
downtown Westlock is located within ten minutes walking distance. Local health care centre
within two minutes walking distance. Toronto Dominion Bank, one of 6 banks in Westlock, is within two minutes walking distance.
Transportation to the hospital, doctors offices, dental offices, and shopping areas is provided by
the local Action buses two times per week. Special provisions are available for trips to
rehabilitation services four times per week. Day Care Programs available through Aspen Health.
Interdenominational church services are held on site with community representatives coming in
to provide these worship services.
Home Care services are available throughout the week. These include bath assistance, dress assistance,
medication assistance and are arranged through Aspen Health. There are many weekly activities provided through
the Activities Coordinator, who promotes community involvement and interaction with residents.
Independence of our residents is promoted through a community setting of friends
and families.
